We specialize in safe and sturdy bunk beds, the emphasis on sturdy.
We use only #1 grade southern yellow pine to construct our premium beds. When
used with our heavy duty bunkie boards, each bunk will safely support
up to 400 lbs- the limit of the bunkie boards.
Our beds are allladder-end type. Each end can be used as the ladder to the upper bunk, providing a (32") wide, safe entry and exit from the upper bunk. These will however may not work when placed in alcoves.
All of our beds have two full length guardrails on both sides.
We strongly suggest you acquaint yourself with the bunk bed safety requirements. Protect your kids- be informed.
Our handcrafted premium bunk beds are custom built for you! Our turnaround time is 4-5 weeks from the time you place you order. Nationwide delivery is 5-14 days.
Our beds can be built in standard twin, twin extra long, full and queen sizes. Our premium twin bunk beds measure 42 1/2" W x 81"L. Add 6" to the length for twin extra long (XL) beds. Full (double) size bunk beds are 57 1/2" wide. Queens are about 64" wide.
Standard height is 66", our tall is 72" overall height. Our tall bunkbeds allow extra headroom even for adults and will work well in standard rooms with 8' ceilings. Tall beds can also be shortened to within 68" to 70" typically.
Optionally, we can drill extra holes that allow you to position the lower bed rail 3 1/2" lower, thus giving more headroom, even on the standard height beds.
L-shapes (or L-shaped) bunk beds can be any combination of sizes, although we recommend only twin or twin xl for the lower bed. Some people use a twin or twin xl loft over existing full or queen beds when space is really tight.
Twin xl loft with a lower twin (a popular combination) allows the lower bed to swing under, more like a standard bunk bed or swing out for use as a l-shape.
We can build our beds for you in custom sizes.
In recent years it has become more and more difficult to find odd size mattresses and bunkie boards. We no longer build orders for odd size mattresses.
Most common changes are slightly shorter or taller beds.
Changing the length or the width of the bed requires an odd size mattress, bunkie and bedding. Not a good idea...
Here are some Of our common options available:
All of our Premium bunk beds have two full length guard rails of both sides. For safety reasons, be sure to allow a minimum of 5" from the top of the guard rail to the top of the mattress.
Our regular beds allow for up to 10 1/2" thick mattress/bunkie boards. We can make adjustments to allow mattress/bunkie thicknesses up to 15". 12" to 15" should be done on tall beds only, particularly if a thicker mattress is used on the lower bunk.
You may notice we don't offer a triple bunkbed. We suggest that you use a roll out trundle under a bunked instead. Why? Getting in and out of a triple is inherently more difficult and the space between bunks is very limited- even with the lower bunk on the ground.
I'm glad you asked but at this time we do not offer plans for any of our products.
We have five basic styles of bunkbeds.
